Beach Boys - I’m Waiting For the Day
My favorite aspect of this album is that it’s in mono, as if the entire time Brian Wilson was recording Pet Sounds he had his middle finger pointed at the Beatles. I was offended at the ‘90’s released stereo mixes. Mono is timeless. Hard-panning Al Jardine’s voice does nothing for me. Give me palm-muted, reverbed out guitars with treble-turned-all-the-way-up, set them to the bridge pickup, and play them in both ears so I can hear the pick hit the A string right before the final crescendo.
